Sweet 'n Superb Marinara Sauce (And EASY!)

ok, girls, (i assume my audience is mainly gals) here's the truth: i don't like tomato sauce. problem is, it's in everything good - pizza, pasta, dips, etc. so, i've just been one to use a little here and there, but only because i had to to make a recipe recognizable. the Huz LOVES red sauce tho, and has patiently born my lack of enthusiasm in cooking with it. well, this year we've discovered a great family treasure - THE marinara sauce. all other marinaras have tasted the same to me before, but this one was sweeter and had a notable robustness to  the flavor that left you askin' " what was that?" i discovered what that was - the secret ingredient - Frank's Hot Sauce. so here it is, folks, you've gotta give it a try. here's the best tasting tomato sauce i've ever had. period. and make sure to read the bottom - if the taste report of this recipe doesn't convince you to try it the ease of making it will.

Sweetly Superb Tomato Sauce
This full flavored and slightly sweet marinara sauce is a divinely simple, delicious, and a multitasking crowd pleaser.

Time: 20 min. Yield: 6 cups

v      Two 28oz. cans (approx 6 cups) crushed tomatoes
v      2 Tb. sugar
v      2 tsp. Italian seasoning
v      1 tsp. oregano
v      1 ½ Tb. Franks hot sauce
v      1 tsp. garlic powder
v      ½ tsp. onion powder

Stir all together in a medium sauce pot on medium-low heat. Allow to bubble gently for 10-15min. Serve over pasta, as a marinara dip for mozzarella sticks, or use as pizza sauce.

Note: Can also be made “cold” (without any cooking) and frozen in Ziplocks to be reheated later. I've done this many times and the taste is still just as good.
